Initial Engagement and Scope: Story Collaborative was provided with our API before pricing the project. Despite this, they were unable to deliver key functionalities. We removed a large part of the originally intended integration to simplify the process, yet progress remained painfully slow. Our contract began on 12/1/23, but the kickoff meeting didn’t occur until 12/7, with no meaningful follow-up until 12/27. Contacts were not imported into HubSpot until 2/24, only after we contacted HubSpot Support ourselves. We still needed to us MailChimp for mass email campaigns in Dec. and Jan. Getting time on David’s calendar was a constant issue. Meetings were rescheduled multiple times without proper communication, often omitting critical participants who needed to be included for data mapping discussions. He also failed to include the subcontractor responsible for much of the actual work in any of our meetings, leaving us in the dark about key aspects of the integration. From the beginning, we emphasized our need to have store numbers and vehicles associating with deals data. This was never done. We were promised three years of historical data. Only two months from 2023 were imported (June and August), with deal imports delayed until May 2024 and incomplete. By August 2024, David ceased work, claiming excessive time spent on the project. He left us with unresolved issues, vague instructions for revisions, and incomplete deliverables. He offered support solutions at a premium price, but refused to complete the onboarding. The subcontractor, whom David never included in our meetings, offered to fix one problem (associating automobiles with new deals) for an additional $200 but couldn’t address historical data. This lack of transparency about the subcontractor’s role and capabilities hindered progress further. We selected HubSpot and Story Collaborative expecting a premium solution tailored to our needs, but what we’ve received feels like a subpar product cobbled together with minimal regard for our priorities. We took the meeting, to learn what we could and hopefully do it ourselves. during the meeting, my HubSpot Admin (who was initially trained by HubSpot) said... "pay these guys whatever they want" (I only wish she didn't say it in front of them :) ... to do everything and more the price was more than reasonable and worth it... and more importantly, they have delivered everything they promised (and more) saving us uncalculatable hours of time and money, not to mention the frustration of figuring it out... They got the system up and running (in a very short time -under 2 weeks, customized to our need with tools we didn't know were possible without costly programming, and they provided us insights into what other franchises (and other types of businesses) have done to achieve rapid growth. To say "I recommend David, Chad & Story Collaborative" is an understatement. I would say... Hire them if you want to get the maximum benefit from the program, or don't bother using HubSpot...
