Overview

1/7 - Sequence sends that will fail, with the sender named
Seat waste is invisible in HubSpot. A user who was given Sales Hub Enterprise for one quarter of pipeline work keeps that seat for years, and nothing in the portal points at it. Renewal is the first moment anyone looks, and by then the number has been wrong for eleven months.
Tendal measures the thing HubSpot does not surface. It reads your user list and the seat assigned to each person, then counts what each of them actually did inside a measurement window: contacts touched, deals worked, sequences sent, meeting links used, forecasts submitted, calls placed. It compares that activity against the seat being paid for and names the users whose seat is more expensive than their measured use supports.
What comes back is specific. Per user: the seat now, the cheapest seat their activity supports, a confidence level, and the reason. Per portal: what you pay today, what the recommendation would cost, and the annual difference.
Alongside the seats it reports three things that are easy to miss entirely: seats billed to people who never accepted their invitation, super admin access that outlived the person who held it, and marketable contacts climbing toward the next billing block. Where your plan automates sequences it also names sends that will silently fail, because the colleague a workflow sends as has left or their connected inbox dropped. The workflow action that enrols into a sequence needs Enterprise, so that signal has the most to report there. Professional portals can automate enrolment from the sequence tool itself, and Tendal reads those the same way.
The same walk over your workflows finds a quieter failure: internal notifications that reach nobody. A workflow that emails a colleague who has left, or a team with no members left, still runs and still reports success. HubSpot notes that the notification went to no one only in its own logs, so the first sign of trouble is usually that a handover nobody was told about did not happen.
Every recommendation is advice, not instruction. Tendal cannot change your portal and does not try to. Where a signal is unavailable on your HubSpot plan, the result says so rather than treating a missing measurement as inactivity.
The first audit is free and needs no card. A subscription adds the weekly re-scan, the trend over time, and alerts by email or to Slack, Discord or Google Chat when the picture moves.
Features

Seat waste, per user, with the reason
Tendal counts what each licensed user actually did in a measurement window and compares it against the seat they are paid for. You get the seat they hold now, the cheapest their activity supports, a confidence level, the reason, and what the change is worth per year. Tendal cannot change your portal and does not try to.

It watches, so you do not have to remember to look
Seat waste is invisible until renewal, by which point the number has been wrong for months. A subscription re-scans every week, keeps the trend, and tells you when the picture moves enough to act on, by email or in Slack, Discord or Google Chat. There is no dashboard to remember to open.

Automation that runs and tells nobody
Workflows that notify a person who has left, or a team with no members left, still run and still report success. HubSpot records that nobody was reached only in its own logs. Tendal reads the same workflows it reads for sequence senders and names both: the sends that will fail, and the notifications that reach no one.

Every object above is read, never written. Tendal contains no code that changes a record, a property or a user, and asks for no permission to do so. Records are read in order to be counted: a contact is read to answer "how many contacts did this user touch", and the answer is a number. Two scopes are worth naming because they have no read-only form, so granting them also grants write: the one HubSpot calls automation, and tickets. That is why tickets appears above as "any direction" rather than as a read. Tendal only ever reads both, and both are optional.
Tendal also reads your user list, the seat assigned to each person, record owners, and your teams. Those are settings rather than CRM objects, so they cannot be listed in the table above, but they are read and are named here for completeness. Teams are read only to tell a notification aimed at a team that still has members from one aimed at a team that is now empty. Full detail at https://tendal.io/shared-data
